(1) Initial appointments and terms. Within sixty (60) Days of enacting this Code, the Tribal Council must appoint nine (9) Tribal Members to serve on the Election Board. The Tribal Council must appoint three (3) members to serve one-year terms, three (3) members to serve two-year terms, and three (3) members to serve three-year terms.

(2) Regular appointments. When terms of the initial appointments expire or Tribal Council increases the number of members, the Election Board must reccommend Tribal Members to fill vacant seats. Regular appointments are made by the Tribal Council at its next meeting.

(3) Regular terms. Members of the Election Board will serve staggered three-year terms. Members may not serve more than one consecutive term. However, there is no limit on the total number of terms that a member of the Election Board may serve.

(4) Notifications of open positions.

(A) Open positions on the Election Board must be posted on the official Tribal website for at least thirty (30) days.

(B) Tribal members who wish to serve on the Election Board must submit an application stating that they meet the qualifications for the position.

(C) For the initial positions only, such application must be returned to the Tribal administrative office within six (6) weeks of adoption of this Code. [Res. 22-148, 2022.]
