If two (2) or more individuals receive the same highest number of votes for a General Council office, a runoff election between the tied individuals will be conducted by the Election Board.

(1) Ballots will be prepared and mailed within fifteen (15) days of the original election date and returned by voters within thirty (30) days of the original mailing of ballots.

(2) Results will be published within seven (7) days of the ballot due date.

(3) The winner of any runoff election for General Council office shall take the written Oath of Office and take office immediately after the announcement of the runoff election results, in accordance with Title IV Section 5 of the By-Laws of the Cowlitz Indian Tribe.

(4) In the event that a runoff election results in a tie, then the election must be determined immediately by a Drawing of Lots between the tied Candidates in the same manner as outlined in 20.08.120, above. [Res. 22-148, 2022.]
