(1) A sentence of imprisonment must be stayed if an appeal is made by the defendant and notice of appeal is filed with the Court Clerk or by the Clerk on behalf of the defendant within seven days after imposition of judgment.

(2) A sentence to pay a fine or a fine and costs if an appeal is taken may be stayed by the Court upon the filing of the notice of appeal; provided, that the Court may require the defendant pending appeal to deposit the whole, or any part, of the fine and costs in the registry of the Court, or give a bond for payment of it.

(3) The defendant may be allowed to post bail if they have been sentenced to imprisonment pending the appeal.
