Chapter 15.05 PROHIBITIONS

This chapter is included in your selections.

Tribal commercial fishing is prohibited. Until such time the federal courts clarify the tribal right to fish, all commercial fishing in Cowlitz territory by tribal members is unauthorized.

(1) Any tribal member, who obtains lawful permits from the states of Washington or Oregon to fish commercially or for sport, shall not be restricted by the tribe.

(2) Bartering fish to non-members is prohibited. Tribal members may barter fish for other subsistence items or products gathered lawfully by other members (fish for meat-berries-firewood-regalia-cultural craft items-…).
