Hunting Companion” means a person who is not a hunter, but who may accompany a hunter to the field. A hunting companion may include any; child, spouse, relative, friend, packer, skinner, helper, guide, scout, camp cook, camp watchman, horse wrangler, photographer, researcher, vehicle driver, or an informant. The defining distinction between a hunter and a hunting companion is the use of a weapon to kill wildlife. A hunter is equipped to kill, a hunting companion shall not be equipped to kill, and shall not. Hunting companions shall not accompany individual hunters, but may participate in a group hunt(s) but only with the permission of the group hunt leader.
