(1) Any tribal council member may submit a code revision petition to the office of the code reviser.

(2) No code revision petition shall embrace more than one subject and that will be expressed in the title.

(3) The code reviser shall review the petition and write a brief summary report.

(A) If the petition is found to be deficient the code reviser shall return it to the submitting member with an explanation of the reason(s).

(B) If the petition is found to be valid the code reviser shall place the original with a summary report in the tribal archives and forward a copy of the petition and summary report to the executive committee for placement on the agenda of the next tribal council meeting as new business.

(4) The tribal council per agenda shall consider the code revision petition and make one of the following decisions.

(A) Approve petition

(B) Disapprove petition

(C) Table petition

(5) The code reviser upon receiving an approved code revision petition from the tribal council will codify the content and make the necessary changes to the official copy of the code.
