CONSITITUTION of the COWLITZ INDIAN TRIBE PREAMBLE

We, the Indians of the Cowlitz Indian Tribe create and adopt the following constitution for the Cowlitz Indian Tribe for the purpose of creating a tribal government, establishing a tribal community organization, promoting the social and economic well-being of our people, securing our aboriginal land and any and all natural resources therein, preserving our culture and institutions, fostering justice and freedom and advancing our mutual welfare.
