SECTION 1. The legal name of the tribal organization created by this constitution shall be the Cowlitz Indian Tribe.

SECTION 2. The jurisdiction of the Cowlitz Indian Tribe shall extend to their aboriginal lands, any and all natural resources therein, aboriginal fishing rights, land held by Federal government for them, land owned by them in fee patent, and to such other lands as may be added thereto by purchase, gift, Act of Congress or otherwise. All present and future tribal members of the Cowlitz Indian Tribe shall be governed, benefited and protected by this constitution. The Cowlitz Indian Tribe shall have the authority to exercise maximum jurisdiction possible under tribal and Federal law.
