The tribal council believes that this addition to our code will benefit our tribe in many ways. The youth of our tribe have always been looked upon as future leaders. Having a youth department would allow them practical experience in our tribe’s governance. Working closely with the tribal council and appointed counselors to carry out of the policies and procedures and operations of an official tribal department would be beneficial to any youth, who wishes to become a tribal leader. We firmly believe that a youth department or any thing else, we can do that prepares our youth for tribal leadership is well worth the effort.
