12.04.010 Natural Resources Committee.
The executive council shall appoint, subject to tribal council confirmation, a natural resources committee to manage the natural resources department and upon accepting a position, all committee’s are required to take the tribal oath of office before the tribal council.
(1) The tribal council shall appoint the chair and the committee shall always consist of three members and all are subject to the following qualifications.
(A) Be a current member of the Cowlitz Indian Tribe with high moral character.
(B) Possess at least a high school diploma or its equivalency.
(C) Be able to demonstrate a working knowledge the Cowlitz Tribal Code.
(2) The original committee shall consist of one member for a one year term, one member for a two year term, and one member for a three year term.
(3) Subsequent members shall serve three-year terms beginning on the first day of January. In the event of the death, removal or resignation of a member, the tribal council shall fill the vacated seat with a qualified appointee, who shall serve for the remainder of the vacated term.
