A blank title was adopted on July 15, 2000, by tribal council resolution No. TC 2000-05. Chapter headings 05.01 through 05.05 and 05.99 were adopted on June 21, 2002, by tribal council resolution. Section contents of chapters 05.01 through 05.05 were submitted to tribal council on December 21, 2002, for first reading. On January 4, 2003, the tribal council ratified the contents of chapters 05.01 through 05.05. On August 2, 2003, the tribal council ratified a resolution that replaced the existing content with the present content. On September 12, 2015 Tribal Council approved by motion to adopt the present content and replace the existing content. On March 10, 2022 Tribal Council approved by Ordinance Number 22-01 to adopt the present content and replace the existing content. To eliminate uncertainty that had arisen about which documents were used to record the changes that the Cowlitz Tribal Council had enacted on March 10, 2022, Tribal Council enacted a resolution on October 1, 2022 to rescind and replace Title 05.
